I’m an Industrial Designer from Chicago and graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 2008. I’m currently living in Southern California, living in a strange world of perpetual summer.

I always try to keep an open mind, trying to balance beauty and form with the realities of the manufacturing world. As a graduate of Carnegie Mellon, the virtues of research-driven design are very important to me. However, this doesn’t mean that design can be boiled down into a large pile of research. It takes a skilled hand to know what to apply to a problem to create the best solution. Often, you need to go with your gut.

The concept of “design thinking” has recently been added to the list of business buzzwords and its meaning has become diluted. At its core, I believe design is forward-looking optimism in the face of stagnation. The ability to problem solve in a creative way is what I love.
